My name is Georgia Bell and I'm the proud owner of Society by Georgia Bell. I would like to tell you a little bit about our salon.
This is why i like to think we are the best colour Salon in Yorkshire!!! Society are known to specialise in all forms of colour from highlights and Balayage right through to bleach, bright and major transformations. We aso do a wide variety of Precision cutting,texture cutting,hair extensions and curly hair specialist work.
Its been mine and my teams personal mission to really put Society on the map in Yorkshire as a highly skilled specialist salon.
At Society we believe that we don't just 'sell' colour we actually sell confidence part of why we feel we've created something really special with the colour work we offer to our vast client base.
The bright work we do for example gets a lot of attention but that doesn't stop our clients coming for more natural,tonal or highlighted techniques.
Society is based on the high street in Rotherham town centre. Due to the colour techniques we create, we have not only a local following but we find clients travel from all over the uk, ether upon recommendation or because of the colour work they see on our social media platforms.
We provide a number of packages in the salon that cover different techniques and applications we have an extensive and eclectic client base that enjoy changing the colour of there hair on a regular basis.
We also run an academy for hairdressers to pass on our knowledge , as the colours we create are bespoke applications which other hairdressers want to learn.
We get a lot of attention not only within our local area but also on our social media channels. Hairdressers and stylists from across the uk and Ireland started asking us to offer classes showcasing some of our signature colours. This has proven to be a great success and we hold around 3 different academies per month currently these are Boss your Brights , Balayage and blending and our Creative jam texture course.
In just 5 years our colour work has managed to recieve Industry recognition and great press coverage enabling our brand to secure slots at leading industry events such as Salon International, Colour world and Pro hair.
This has also lead to some amazing opportunities for us to become affiliated with some of the leading brands within our industry such as Denman Brush, ASP, Eblade scissors, Procare Foil, Salons Direct, INNOluxe,and Kerastraight.
Societys personal education matters and we are constantly pushing ourselves to further evolve what we do with colour techniques, applications and precision cutting. We cover what's current in terms of colour trends and cutting techniques, but we also pride ourselves on being forward thinking, creating what we feel will be commercially current next.
In February society created a step by step called 'The Frenchie' for Denman Brush this is our prediction of what's going to be hitting both colour and cut wise Spring/summer 2022. This has received some fabulous press coverage from both Hairdressers Journal and Prohairmag.

At Society we believe communication and consultation is key.
In terms of communication we feel as a company we do all we can for new and existing clients. On Sundays I personally offer online video consultations both to new and existing clients the reason for this is to put new clients at ease in there own environment and really find out what they want.
Its also a chance for me to see which member of my team is best suited to that particular colour service as we do have a number of specialists within our company, secondly if an existing client is thinking about having a big change or transformation, it just gives us a little extra time for us to see what they need.
We always request new clients have a consultation and that way we can put a personal hairplan in place for them.
Price transparency, we believe that this is key for our clients and we make this known both on our social media and within the salon, you can check our stories on instagram to show the process from start to finish we talk and explain about the products we use , time and also the cost.
Another key factor of our communication at Society is talking about maintenance and aftercare, this includes recommending the correct products for our clients hair.
We have a number of aftercare and maintenance sheets available at Society from bleach sheets to unicorn haircare sheets this is just an extra bit of information about colour process and fade , what products we personally recommend and how to get the most longevity out of their new look. We also send out online consultation forms through our salon software Phorest and appointment reminders as well as providing our clients with a online booking app where they can book through our website.
On Social media we constantly talk about the colour techniques we offer and the best way to keep your hair looking fresh, with our bright applications we actually create bespoke colour pots so our clients can keep there vibrant hair colour topped up at home.
As I mentioned previously we have a number of packages available at Society, these are exclusive packages we created for the salon. These include everything from bleach up to tone, Innoluxe treament, cut and blow-dry, also a free blow-dry with one of our assistants over seen by our stylist up to 2 weeks after a clients appointment that's so we can upskill our juniors but so we can also check in with our clients to see how they are enjoying their new colour.

The Society client experience is so important to us. Part of the Society brand ethos is to be inclusive and to offer a safe space to all our clients. , Because of this we do attract a lot of clients that have anxiety or that can be quite nervous within new surroundings this in turn pushes our brand even more to make the experience we offer to be the best it possibly can be.
The colour work we offer varies so much. But one thing we can always guarantee is that all of our team and clients are excited about their appointment with us and to ensure this it begins at the consultation.
From the moment you walk through our door you are welcomed into our Society , you are also given a vegan/halal packet of pick and mix sweets, before being sat down and given some colour advice sheets to read over.
We have a wide variety of refreshments in the salon, but our favourite by far is our fridge where clients are able to help themselves to drinks from their childhood, things like bubblegum, ice cream soda and chip shop pop.
Society as a whole are not really into regular trash magazines as we believe they can contribute negatively to your mental health so we choose to have an array or interesting, funny and engaging reading material which we have collected and bought over the years. Free wifi is available if you want to surf on your phone.
We am very proud of the safe space that we've created within our salon Society. And that's exactly what we have created over time. I know that clients have a fabulous experience with myself and the team, not only because of great colour and customer service but because we make it fun and interactive during appointments , We have just over 750 positive reviews on our social media channels and Google, its fabulous as a salon to receive such positive feedback.
We really believe our strongest incentives for our clients is a great rapor and really understanding what they want and need. We believe that this starts with consultation, generally our cut and blow-dry clients do end up opting for some form of colour service. We believe that this is due to the vast amount of colouring services that Society offers.
We are active on social media and we really use our platform to talk directly to our clients dealing with many men and women that struggle with confidence issues everyone is treated with an equal amount of care and love and everyone is celebrated by our salon.
Further incentives for our clients include a great reward system that we use via our booking system Phorest whereby our clients receive a branded key card that they tap to claim points every time they are in , they can then redeem this on services and products dependant on the amount of points they've received.
Recommend a friend vouchers have also proved to be a huge success for us , our recommend a friend vouchers give £10 off any colour service for both people and they have been commissioned by local artist it'll_do_art, we are a big believer in using and supporting as many local businesses as possible to help supply our salon. We also offer 15% discount for anyone who works for the NHS.
We really believe that as a collective we are offering a breath of fresh air to our industry in yorkshire and we are very passionate at what we do,forward thinking and we are constantly striving to be the best.
Getting Industry recognition encourages myself and my salon to keep pushing the boundaries within colour and hairdressing and with a huge salon relocation to a listed building looming we dream to further expand and eventually become the creative hub of the Yorkshire .
In just 5 years with a lot of hard work and determination we have managed to achieve a lot but we will always push for more and we believe that with the correct mindset and with a strong team behind us the Skys the limit.
